There were lots of picnic tables with umbrellas for us to dine at. A few of us opted for the Whistle Hamburger which turned out to be a beef patty wrapped in chili wrapped in a bun.
The beef patty supplied some texture in the sandwich; otherwise it was dull. I could not discern the cheese or bacon flavours. The sliced white onion added some depth to the burger structure. The bun was very dry and flaky. Costs commented "More chili on burger than burger." Mike composed "This hamburger was all about chili.
The sauce included taste without excessive grease, the bacon was crisp and fresh, however the cheese, lettuce and other toppings were nearly unnoticeable." Karen reviewed the Fatboy "It had a soft Kaiser roll with lots of saucy lettuce and huge tomato. The burger is chewy-thin and truly dark coloured.
A couple of burgerettes had the bacon burger. "The patty looked like a frozen hamburger patty and kind of tasted like one as well but the bacon was great and crispy" said Mireille.
Opinions differed on the fries and I suspect they tasted best when they were hot. A fantastic feature of the WPD is that it shares the parking lot with a DQ and as everybody knows, hamburgers should always be followed up with ice-cream.
All's well, that ends well!.
